Cartilage transplantation of the patellofemoral joint

In young patients with invalidating knee pain due to early osteoarthritis of the patellofemoral joint (anterior region) secondary to dysplasia (alteration in the shape) of this area of the knee, fresh osteochondral transplantation of both articular surfaces is the best alternative. We thus avoid the implantation of a prosthesis at very young ages.

TRIPLE fresh cartilage transplantation

A 35-year-old patient with a severe articular cartilage lesion in three different areas of his right knee. There were extensive injuries in the patella, trochlea and medial femoral condyle. New studies on cartilage transplantation

Dr. Gelber has just published two new techniques of fresh cartilage transplantation. This surgeries are indicated for the treatment of disabling pain due to early osteoarthritis in young patients.
