Arthroscopy & knee fractures
Dr. Gelber has extensive experience in arthroscopic procedures for fractures of the knee and it is a common theme in his international presentations. Specifically, he uses it to assess and improve on the degree of reduction of fractures of the tibial plateau. This also allows him to diagnose and treat associated injuries that occur in most cases in the same surgery in certain cases. Those include injuries to the meniscus, the cruciate or collateral ligaments or the articular cartilage.
He also uses arthroscopy to treat fractures of the tibial tubercle, typical of adolescents. Thus, more effective treatment is achieved with faster recovery in addition to a much smaller scars.
